Liebherr MK 88 - Mick Volendam

The first Liebherr MK 88 of Mick Volendam from Volendam (NL) on a construction site in Zuid-Scharwoude (NL).

It is a 88 mt tower crane on a 4 axle undercarriage.

The undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr D936, a 6 cylinder diesel engine with 408 hp. The axles 2, 3 and 4 are driven, all axles are steerable.

The development, production of the super structure and the assembly are done by Liebherr in Biberach a/d Riss (DE), the undercarriages are produced in Ehingen (DE).

It is the MK 88 in "Plus" execution, mainly recognizable on the additional 2 tonnes of counterweight. By using the additional "Plus" load curve are the dynamic back-ups used by reducing the working speeds of the drives, because of that the crane can lift more.

The tailswing of the counterweight is 3.7 meters.

The outrigger base measures 7.3 x 7 meters.

The jib has a max. length of 45 meters. The crane can lift a maximum load of 8 tonnes up to a 13 meter radius and 2.2 tonnes up to 45 meters. The jib is easy adjustable to a 15, 30 or 45 degree angle.

The hook height is with extended tower 30.2 meters. With 45 degree angled jib the hook height is maxmum 59.1 meters at 32 meter radius. The crane can lift than max. 1.85 tonnes over the full jib length.

The crane cabin is movable over the whole tower height. Optionally the MK 88 can be operated by remote control.

Packed has the crane a 15.94 meter length, a 4 meter heighs and a 2.75 meter breadth.

At the rear of the crane is a big box mounted for the lifting gears.

A very sharp crane in the Mick colors! In the meantime Mick has its second MK 88 in "Plus" execution in use.
