Liebherr LR 1400/2 - Wagenborg Nedlift

The Liebherr LR 1400/2 of Wagenborg Nedlift was used shortly for the expansion of "De Grolsch Veste" in Enschede (NL).

Put up as 300 tonne crane with 95 tonnes of counterweight.

In the background the FAUN ATF 50G-3 of P&K.

Fitted with 35 meters of main boom and 42 meters of luffing jib.

This crane only has the lattice A-frames, there is also a set smaller and closed A-frames available for the LR 1400/2. The crane is then fitted with a smaller luffing jib.

Imposing sight, the 10.4 meter long tracks with a mass of 27.7 tonnes each.

The 95 tonnes can be extended up to 135 tonnes of counterweight. The cylinders between the counterweight are used for the superlift frame.

From above are the winches in the super structure visible, only the front winch was used. The line pull is 12.5 tonnes.

The crane was used to hoist precast concrete and steel elements that were out of reach for the other crane.

Here is a rafter hoisted of 19 tonnes.

The other crane was the Liebherr LR 1300 of Van Marwijk. It was not possible to reach the left corner because of some water.

Part 2

The Liebherr LR 1400/2 of Wagenborg Nedlift was used by the sluices of Eefde (NL) after a sluice door was fell downwards.

With the crane the door was temporary hoisted up and down to continue the shipping traffic. Wagenborg has created a very nice solution for this job.

The LR 1400/2 was working with the superlift (28 metres long) and superlift counterweight, about 180 tonnes. Max. is 260 tonnes possible.

Fitted with a 63 meter main boom. Around the sluice building was (also by Wagenborg) a portal made where the 95 tonne sluice door is hung in when the ships are passing.

The max. superlift radius is 17.4 meters. By this job the superlift counterweight was staying on the ground, the crane only was used to hoist the door. 24 hours a day.

The undercarriage is 8.7 meters wide and 10.4 meters long. The central carbody counterweight is 43 tonnes.

The 250 tonne hook was reefed with 12 strings, good for a 137 tonne capacity (if the working radius allows).

The hoisted sluice door was during the passing of shipping traffis hung in the portal made around the building. That was a wish of the customer because of the safety, we all know it is not aloud to stay under an hanging load in the crane.
