Zeppelin ZT 400 - Woud Wormer

Woud Wormer from Wormer (NL) owns this special Zeppelin ZT 400, a 60 tonne crawler cranes. Woud also owns a 90 tonne Zeppelin ZT 600.

Zeppelin is the Caterpillar dealer in Germany, because Caterpiller did not offer all products, Zeppelin developed these themself; examples are wheeled excavators and crawler cranes. Produced were these Zeppelin products at Sennebogen in Straubing (DE).

The undercarriage of the crane is 5.85 meters long and 4.8 meters wide. The crane is powered by a Caterpillar engine.

The vibrator that is used to drive sheet piles is a PVE 2319VM. The vibrator has a excentricity of 0 - 19 kgm and a maximum frequency of 2,300 rpm. The vibrator is powered by the crane, no additional power pack is necessary.

The counterweight has a 4.05 meter tailswing.

The mass of the counterweight is 13.5 tonnes.

Special is that the boom is moved by an hydraulic cylinder. In the gantry are the three hoist winches installed.

Later would Sennebogen take over the Zeppelin concept, example is the first serie of the Sennebogen 640.

The crane was erected here with a 27 meter main boom.

The maximum boom length of the crane is 42 meters.
