Weserhütte SW 311 - LT Sambo

LT Sambo is a Korean company specialized in civil projects that is active in various Asian countries. This interesting machine, built on the base carrier of a Weserhütte SW 311, was used to make diaphragm walls in Singapore (SG) with used of a hydraulic cutter.

Here was a round shaft made for an underground network of tunnel system to collect rain water, the diaphrahm wall is made to a depth of approx. 50 meters.

The undercarriage of the machine is 6.17 meters long and 4.9 meters wide. For the transport is the width to be reduced to 3.9 meters.

Standard is the SW 311 powered by a Caterpillar 3406 DI-T, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 242 kW. At the rear of the superstructure is a very large power pack mounted to power the hydraulic cutter.

Attached to the base machine are two large hose reels, one is to hydraulically power and steer the cutter and the other one is to suck the grinded material out of the trench. At the same time is the trench filled with a supporting liquid to avoid the trench is collapsing during the cutting process.

In the rig is hanging a BC30/50 hydrulic cutter that can be used to a depth of maximum 100 meters. The cutter is in vertical direction moved by a winch.

A very sharp and interesting rig of LT Sambo!
