Lifting a boat by Verschoor

For many years, the Hiswa, a boat show, was organised in the RAI in Amsterdam (NL). Many yachts, large and small, had to be transported by road to the RAI building. In 2009, a particularly large yacht came to the show.

This large yacht was delivered by Van de Wetering from Loosdrecht (NL); the combination consists of a fine Volvo FH16 610 with a Nooteboom Euro-77-03(P). The yacht weighs approximately 38 tonnes.

In order to unload the yacht from the low loader, four mobile cranes were deployed. These are a Grove GMK4100L, two Grove GMK3055 and a Demag AC 50-1 of Verschoor from Sassenheim (NL), which are being erected here around the yacht.

The lifting height in the hall is very limited. For that reason, the cranes were positioned somewhat further away from the yacht so that the booms do not have to be luffed steeply. The cranes only have to lift the boat upwards shortly, so that the Van de Wetering combination can drive away.

The two cranes at the front each lift approximately 8 tonnes, while the two cranes at the rear each lift approximately 12 tonnes.

Relatively quickly, the yacht was set down on supports; once again, an impressive lifting operation carried out by Verschoor!
