Van den Brink from Barneveld (NL) operated this fine Grove GMK5220. It is a 220-tonne crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier from the year of manufacture 2008.

The carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM502LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 420 kW (571 hp). This crane is equipped with the optional 10x8x10 drive, whereby axles 2 to 5 are driven and all axles are steerable.

The outrigger base measures 8.56 x 8.1 metres, or 8.56 x 6.8 metres on half outrigger base.

Here, the crane was deployed to install prefabricated concrete elements.

Here, the crane was erected with the full ballast of 77 tonnes. The ballast consists of a base plate of 11 tonnes, four slabs of 10 tonnes each and two side slabs of 13 tonnes each. The ballast has a swing radius of 5.3 metres.

The crane is equipped with a 7-section main boom; the base length is 13.3 metres and the main boom telescopes six times to a maximum length of 68 metres.

In transport condition, the crane is approximately 16 metres long, 3 metres wide and 4 metres high. The total weight is approximately 60 tonnes. A fine crane from Van den Brink!
