Sumitomo SC 700

Steenkorrel

Steenkorrel from Oudt Zwanenburg (NL) used to be active in demolition works and also deployed two crawler cranes for this purpose. The smaller crawler crane was this fine Sumitomo SC 700; the company also deployed a large Sumitomo SC 1500, which was sold to Zwagerman International. This SC 700 was deployed during the demolition of two apartment blocks in Purmerend (NL).

The SC 700 is a 70-tonne crawler crane. The crane is powered by an Isuzu 6SA1-T, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 147 kW (200 hp). The carrier of the crane is 5.925 metres long and 4.66 metres wide.

The crane is equipped with two 6.5-tonne hoist winches.

A total of 20 tonnes of ballast is mounted on the superstructure; the ballast consists of two parts weighing 10.85 tonnes and 9.15 tonnes. The ballast has a swing radius of 4.165 metres.

Steenkorrel was primarily active in demolition works. This Sumitomo was deployed as an auxiliary crane to suspend a container next to an apartment block, which was then filled with waste from the balcony. The main boom has a base length of 12.2 metres and can be extended in steps of 3.05 metres to a maximum length of 54.85 metres.

The main boom is 51.85 metres long here. In this configuration, the crane can lift a maximum of 11.6 tonnes at a radius of 12 metres or 1.7 tonnes up to a radius of 38 metres.

A very fine crane from Steenkorrel!
