Tadano GR-700EX

Hiap Tong

This fine and interesting Tadano GR-700EX belongs to Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG) and was parked at a construction site. It is a 70-tonne rough-terrain crane from the year of manufacture 2012. The crane was to assist in the construction of a new metro line.

The carrier of the crane is 8.2 metres long and 3.32 metres wide. The full outrigger base measures 7.2 x 7.2 metres. The maximum travel speed is 20 km/h.

For transport between construction sites, the boom is brought into a horizontal position. The crane is then 14.075 metres long, 3.32 metres wide and 3.8 metres high. The complete crane weighs approximately 49 tonnes. In Singapore, such cranes are driven on public roads, albeit with the aid of a towing vehicle and at night when traffic density has been reduced to a minimum.

The five-section main boom has a base length of 11.5 metres and therefore telescopes four times to a maximum length of 44 metres. Optionally, the main boom can be extended by means of a 9.9- to 17.7-metre folding jib. This jib is attached to the main boom at an angle of 0, 25 or 45 degrees.

The crane is equipped with two 5.6-tonne hoist winches, both of which are also in use here.

A ballast weight of 7.9 tonnes is mounted on the superstructure; optionally, this can be removed to reduce the transport weight. The ballast has a swing radius of 4.12 metres.

The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M60-TLU3B, a 6-cylinder 7.5-litre diesel engine with an output of 200 kW (272 hp). The carrier has 4x4x4 drive, meaning that both axles are driven and steerable. During crane operation, two hydraulic pumps are driven.

An interesting and fine crane from Hiap Tong!
