Junttan PM26LC

JP Nelson

This impressive Junttan PM26LC belongs to JP Nelson from Singapore (SG) and was deployed there for foundation work for a new elevated metro line. It is a multifunctional foundation machine that can be used for various piling methods. The machine was built in 2021.

The carrier is 5.7 metres long and 4.77 metres wide. For transport on public roads, the width can be reduced to 3.5 metres. The operating weight of the machine is approximately 100 tonnes.

The machine is powered by a Cummins QSX15, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 388 kW (520 hp).

A total of 12 tonnes of ballast is mounted on the superstructure; ballast blocks are also mounted on the outriggers, where they also help distribute the load.

Here, drilling was carried out using an auger (CFA method). This method requires neither casing nor supporting fluid, and produces hardly any vibrations, making it a very suitable drilling method in densely built-up areas.

A Junttan JD40 rotary drive is mounted in the leader, with a maximum torque of 400 kNm.

The leader has a length of approximately 26 metres. To move the rotary drive downwards, the drilling rig has a maximum pulldown capacity of 36 tonnes. The main winch has a capacity of 25 tonnes, while the auxiliary winch has a capacity of 12 tonnes.

A very fine and impressive drilling rig from JP Nelson!
