This interesting Nippon Sharyo DHJ-60 M40D of Chuan Lin Piling from Singapore (SG) was parked in the grass near a large new development area. It is a piling rig built in 1982 with an operating weight of approximately 60 tonnes.

The piling rig is powered by a Hino H06C-T, a 6.4-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 110 kW (150 hp). This diesel engine only powers the base machine; a separate power pack is used to power the hydraulic hammer, which is missing here.

A Nippon Sharyo NH-40 hydraulic pile hammer with a maximum ram weight of 4 tonnes is suspended in the leader.

A total of 12.5 tonnes of ballast is mounted at the rear of the machine. To power the hydraulic hammer, a power pack is normally placed in the frame at the rear. This weighs approximately 4 tonnes.

The piling rig is equipped with the M40D leader. This leader has a base length of 15 metres and a maximum length of 21 metres.

Here, the leader is 18 metres long. Two winches are in use, one hoist winch and one winch to move the hammer.

For transport on public roads, the leader can be folded backwards over the machine. The gantry assists with raising and lowering the leader. An interesting machine from Chuan Lin Piling!
