Soilmec SR-80C

This interesting Soilmec SR-80C belongs to HSL from Singapore (SG) and was to be deployed for drilling foundation piles for a new building. It is a drilling rig with an operating weight of approximately 85 tonnes.
The drilling rig is powered by a Caterpillar C13 Acert, a 12.5-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 328 kW (440 hp).
The carrier is 6 metres long and 4.7 metres wide. For transport on public roads, the total width can be reduced to 2.98 metres.
To reduce the engine noise of the machine, because the drilling rig was to be used among a large number of apartment buildings, large noise barriers were mounted to the machine.
The leader has a maximum overall height of 23.31 metres. In combination with the appropriate kelly bar, drilling can be carried out to a depth of up to 77 metres.
The Soilmec RD-260 rotary drive has a maximum torque of 292 kNm. By means of a hydraulic cylinder, the rotary drive can be moved vertically along the leader.
