This fine Scania R 420 belongs to Spiral Marine from Singapore (SG) and was deployed with a 2-axle trailer to transport components of a gantry crane.

It is one of the first R 420 trucks in Singapore, with the new engine specification but still fitted with the old cab from the 4-series.

The truck is powered by a Scania DC12, an 11.7-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 309 kW (420 hp). This truck has 6x4 drive, with both rear axles driven. The truck has a reinforced bumper for manoeuvring trailers or pushing them.

Behind the front axle, the battery, compressed-air tanks and a storage box are mounted. On the other side, the exhaust silencer and diesel tank are mounted.

This truck was also deployed as a ballasted tractor with Goldhofer axle lines. Spiral Marine also operated a Scania R 730 for the same work. Nowadays, Spiral Marine is no longer active in this segment.

A 2-axle high-bed trailer is coupled to the truck, loaded with components of a heavy-duty gantry crane.

A fine combination from Spiral Marine!
