Hitachi KH500-3

Achterdijk

This fine Hitachi KH500-3 belongs to Achterdijk Kranenverhuur from Leimuiden (NL) and was deployed on a new-build project in Spijkenisse (NL). It is a 100-tonne crawler crane.

The carrier is 7.8 metres long and 6.19 metres wide. For transport on public roads, the crawler tracks are separated from the body. Four jack-up cylinders are mounted on the carrier.

The crane is powered by an Isuzu 6RB1T, a 13.7-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 206 kW (280 hp). The diesel engine drives a total of four hydraulic pumps.

The crane is equipped with two 12.5-tonne hoist winches. On this job, one hoist winch was used for the hook, while the other hoist winch is used as a luffing winch for the luffing jib.

As standard, 33.4 tonnes of ballast are mounted on the superstructure; however, on this crane additional ballast has been fitted in order to upgrade the standard lifting chart somewhat to that of a crane in the 120-tonne class. The ballast has a swing radius of 5.495 metres.

In working position, the A-frame has a total height of 7.32 metres. Also visible here are the extra-heavy boom stops for the main boom and the lower sheave nest for the luffing jib.

Here, the crane was erected with a 28-metre main boom and a 28-metre luffing jib. In this configuration, the jib cannot be erected underneath the main boom.

The luffing jib has a base length of 22 metres and a maximum length of 49 metres.

Here, the crane is lifting a heavy balcony slab.

A very fine and powerful crane from Achterdijk Kranenverhuur!
